Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy is a technical level qualification aimed at developing the knowledge, understanding and technical skills needed for a career as a Sports Massage Therapist, or Massage Therapist in the clinical setting, either employed or self employed.
​
The content of this qualification is accredited by ACTIVE IQ and is comprised of all the required elements needed to work effectively and efficiently as a sports massage therapist. This includes anatomy and physiology, professional practice, an understanding of the principles of health and fitness and how to provide sports massage treatments. The level 3 sports massage therapist will be able to work safely and effectively on dysfunctional tissue in a range of contexts, to include, pre-event, post event, intra-event and for maintenance purposes. If the sports arena is not what you are really interested in - this course will equally equip you to work in the usual clinical setting (as indeed do most Sports Massage therapist's) with a large range of clients with muscular problems.

The structure of the qualification is comprised of the following units:
- Anatomy, Physiology with Pathologies and Common Medications
- Professional and Practice Management and the Law for the Therapist
- Understand the principles of soft tissue dysfunction -
- Professional practice in sports massage -
- Sports massage treatments -
This is a highly sought after and popular therapy. The training at
West Shires is usually offered in small groups of 6 to ensure maximum
tutoring -
Tutor Hannah Freimanis - has made a well deserved reputation for
herself over the past 20 years as a highly knowledgeable and
effective Sports Massage Therapist with a large clinic list.
She is a popular tutor at the School and is the School's Director of Studies,
with a highly personable and supportive approach helping all our students.
As the tutor of the sports massage courses she cares passionately about helping
her students become proficient massage therapists, who are well able to convert their
learning from the course into part time or full time therapy businesses with confidence.

To secure a place on our course we :
a) ..ask you to complete a short precourse questionnaire and submit a copy of your CV. It may be necessary to have a short chat with you prior to acceptance onto the course.
b) deposit payable for the training by cheque/bank transfer to Cheryl Hawkes, West Shires School of Complementary Health, Brynseion, Tenby Road, St Clears, Carmarthenshire SA33 4JN. As soon as we receive this we will contact you again with further details prior to the start of the course.

We reserve the right to alter the course start date if there aren't sufficient attendees booked in on the course. We require a minimum of 6 bookings for this course. If there isn't enough bookings 7 days before the planned start date, we will contact each person registered and discuss options.
