VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies
Study at your own pace - undertake the different units of study over a period of time and thus build up your Diploma. Do it as quickly or slowly as you like.

This course covering all the practical skills and underpinning theoretical knowledge to become qualified as a professional beauty therapist. You will be trained to a high level of occupational ability by our highly experienced Beauty Therapy tutor.
We expect to attract people starting out in beauty and complementary therapy onto this course and /or therapists who are already qualified complementary therapists. Please enquire if you have any questions
This qualification can take you into private practice - starting your own beauty salon business, or enhancing your existing practice or it will make you employable within the beauty industry - spas, salons, hotels, cruise liners etc. Beauty Therapy is the UK's largest growth industry.

Our training rooms are a part of a large Complementary Therapy Centre, - Alliance Therapy Carmarthen, and so students get to be a part of the whole real-life clinic atmosphere and have plenty of access to real clients and our professional therapists and tutors.
Modules covered:
Remove hair using waxing techniques - this unit covers waxing to eyebrows, face, legs, underarm and bikini line.
Provide Facial Skincare - this unit is about maintaining and improving facial skin condition using exfoliation, skin warming, facial massage, mask treatments and facial moisturising products.
Provide eyelash and brow treatments - learning to provide eyebrow shaping and eyebrow and eyelash tinting treatments for clients with different colouring characteristics.
Provide Eyelash and Eyebrow Treatments - This unit is about providing eyelash and brow treatments. It covers the use of a variety of consultation techniques to establish the treatment outcomes required. You will be able to provide eyebrow shaping, and eyebrow and eyelash tinting treatments for clients with different colouring characteristics
Provide manicure treatments - You will learn about consulting with the client, recognising
any contra-indications, preparing for the service and producing a treatment plan. You will also learn about filing and buffing the nails, using skin and cuticle treatments, massaging the hand and lower arm and using a suitable nail finish.
Provide pedicure treatments - Covering filing the nails, applying skin and cuticle treatments, cleaning and drying the feet, removing excess hard skin, massaging the foot and lower leg, and providing a suitable nail finish.
Follow health and safety practice in the salon

Units of Study - Dates and Costs
You will be required to register as a student of the awarding body VTCT and so if you wish to collect the units required to get the full Diploma you will need to pay their registration fee of £106 at the start of your studies.
ALL THE FOLLOWING UNITS ARE RUN OVER ONE WEEKEND WITH A FURTHER CLINIC EVENING
YOU CAN STUDY EACH ONE TO BUILD UP YOUR LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA
Facial Massage and Skin Care: - with an extra clinic evening to cover assessments which will be discussed with the group and a mutually agreeable time agreed. This unit of study will also cover the Follow Health and Safety Practice in the Salon and the Client Care and Communication.

Mandatory Basic Anatomy and Physiology and Mandatory Health and Safety and Client Care and Communication for all the above units.
There is an element of knowledge required in how the body works in health and how to recognise illness or pathologies.
Commitments and expectations: We expect our students to demonstrate professionalism and commitment to their studies whilst on this course. You will be expected to sign our student learning agreement and this covers what the student can expect from the School and what we can reasonably expect from you. Once commitment to the course has been agreed and you have a place full payment must be made according to the individual arrangements that are made with you. Leaving the course before it is finished will still mean full payment must be made.
