Saturday 31st July
Time: 10am - 5.00pm

This qualification will give you the skills to provide professional facial skin care. You will learn to analyse the skin to determine the skin type, and learn the correct ways to perform a deep cleanse, toning, exfoliating, steaming, applying masks and a facial and scalp massage, for the benefit of improving skin health, condition and appearance. This is a course that you can use professionally - and facials are one of the most asked for beauty treatments - or you can use these skills confidently with friends, acquaintances and family.
Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of the necessary local anatomy, health and safety practices in the salon environment, how to promote client care. You will achieve a high level of occupational ability, from a tutor who is a full time therapist with many years experience - to enable you to offer your own salon services or gain employment in this area of work.
The facial is a popular choice with clients and as such if you are already a trained therapist in another discipline this qualification gives you an added holistically based treatment to add to what you can offer.
The course also goes very well with other courses you can undertake - like the application of makeup, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, nails etc. Thus you can start to build up a number of qualifications that the beauty therapist can offer.
The course is made up of three units of study :-
Follow health and safety practice in the salon
Client Care and communication in beauty-related industries
Provide Facial Skin Care
You will also be required to pass a VTCT Level 2 Award in Infection Control (Covid-19) at the start of the course. You will be sent some reading material once you have registered for the course to prepare for a short and simple online multiple-choice exam.
Assessment for the facial course is by means of practical demonstration of competence on three occasions and also passing 3 multiple choice exams on the subject - one on Health and Safety and two on the underpinning knowledge of the Facial and its associated Anatomy and Physiology.
