In this half day workshop aimed at new and experienced
therapists you will learn some valuable skills to take into the therapy room to assist with facilitation of emotional responses from the consultation to the couch.
When emotional release occurs during a therapy session, the therapist must manage two processes.
First, he or she must manage his/her response to the client’s emotional expression while maintaining appropriate boundaries, and second, he/she must manage the process of ensuring that a safe, supportive atmosphere is maintained for the client.
This interactive workshop will cover issues such as
Acknowledgement ; Responsiveness ; Proceed or Refer;
Time Management; Managing behaviours; Staying within
the scope of your practice; Ending the session
