Level 3 Award in Education and Training
Qualification Accreditation No: 601/01/43/X
Entry requirements: Minimum age 19.   GCSE/similar in English, Maths, ICT
Target
Learners for this qualification:

Those considering a career in education and training
Those who already have a role within education and training, who do not already hold an equivalent/higher teaching qualification
Those who are already working as an assessor who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching
The Active IQ Level 3 Award in Education and Training is equivalent and replaces the L3 and L4 PTLLS, as such tutors who already hold either PTLLS3 or 4 do not need to undertake the L3 award in Education and Training. 


 Objectives of this course: 
To provide learners with the knowledge to be able to understand the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
To provide learners with the knowledge to be able to deliver education and training to individuals and/or groups in an environment/subject, in which they are technically competent
To provide learners with the knowledge to be able to understand and support the process of assessment
If y
ou are planning to work with children you will need to provide the West Shires School proof that you have undergone a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before you are accepted onto this qualification, prior to its commencement. 

Units you will study for this qualification: 

1. Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training - 3 credits

2. Facilitate learning and development in groups  - 6 credits

3. Understand the principles and practices of assessment - 3 credits

Assessment will take place via all of these methods :

Completion of Workbooks / Lesson Plan / Work-based direct observation / Session and self-evaluation / Teaching log

Course Delivery:   The majority of the theory for this course will be via Zoom -
